GLSHD launched the Binational School of Psychotherapy, a landmark 42-month program implemented in partnership with Hadassah Hospital and funded by the European Union (EU). The program was designed to educate and graduate two cohorts of mental health professionals with Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychotherapy.
This initiative directly addressed the critical shortage of qualified mental health specialists capable of managing Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and related conditions, particularly among children affected by conflict. By equipping graduates with evidence-based therapeutic skills and culturally responsive approaches, the program has significantly contributed to:
• Expanding the pool of qualified psychotherapists in the West Bank and Gaza
• Enhancing access to trauma-informed care
• Supporting long-term healing and recovery processes for war-affected populations
This project exemplifies GLSHD’s commitment to capacity-building in mental health, and its role as a regional leader in advancing psychological resilience and child-focused trauma recovery.
