GLSHD founded the Environmental Educational Center, officially recognized by the Ministry of Education as an accredited learning facility. The center serves as a dynamic platform for environmental education, hosting thousands of schoolchildren, university students, and youth groups who participate in hands-on activities and workshops focused on:
• Recycling and Waste Sorting
• Composting and Sustainable Agriculture
• Electronic Waste Hazards and Safe Disposal
• Consumerism and Ecological Footprint
• Global Warming and Climate Change
• Solid Waste Management
• Renewable Energy Solutions
The center has also served as a training hub for summer camps, equipping young participants with active recycling skills, environmental advocacy tools, and opportunities to engage in competitions and cleanup campaigns. These included initiatives such as clearing electronic waste burning sites and replacing them with green spaces and tree planting.
In addition, the center has become a collaborative platform for broader environmental initiatives, working closely with municipalities, the Ministry of Environment, and various local organizations to promote sustainable development, environmental justice, and community engagement.
